DRUG DESTROYS LIVES: Sandeep Sandilya IPS
Hyderabad : Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University organized Awareness program on “Drug Abuse Prevention” at its campus on Tuesday. Sandeep Sandilya, IPS, Director, EAGLE Force, Govt. of Telangana attended as keynote speaker and delivered a lecture on “Drug Abuse Prevention”. He stated that drug use and abuse are destroying the lives of young people.
He stated that to combat drug abuse, there needs to be a complete understanding of the harmful consequences, emphasizing that once someone becomes addicted, it turns into a dependency, making them slaves to the substance, which brings disrepute to both the parents and society. He illustrated this with recent incidents in his presentation. He called upon the youth and responsible citizens to consider preventing drugs from entering Telangana as a collective responsibility. He warned that drug use or abuse causes individuals to lose their natural characteristics, constantly craving intoxicating substances, and ultimately leading to a decline in their lifespan.
Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU attended as the chief guest for the program. Prof Chakrapani advised the youth not to ruin their bright future and to avoid becoming addicted to vices. He declared that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University is a drug-free zone. He announced that in the coming days, they will create complete awareness among the students studying at their university about the harmful effects of drug use and, with their help, will undertake the necessary campaigns to prevent drug abuse.
Prof. G. Pushpa Chakrapani, Director Academic, BRAOU preside over the program. She stated that they organized this program as a social responsibility and that they would conduct more awareness programs in the coming days. Dr. L. Vijaya Krishna Reddy Registrar, BRAOU attended as guest of honour for the program. Dr. Bhattu, Assistant Professor; All Directors, Deans, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Members and representatives of various Service Associations office bearers were present.

హైదరాబాద్ : మాదకద్రవ్యాల వాడకం, వాటి దుర్వినియోగం యువత జీవితాలను నాశనం చేస్తుందని ఈగిల్ ఫోర్స్ డైరెక్టర్ సందీప్ శాండిల్య, ఐపీఎస్ పేర్కొన్నారు. మాదకద్రవ్యాల వాడకానికి దూరంగా ఉండదనం, వాటి దరికి చేరకపోవడమే ప్రాణాలను కాపాడుతుందని ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు. డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీలో “మాదక ద్రవ్యాల దుర్వినియోగ నివారణ” అనే అంశంపై మంగళవారం అవగాహన కార్యక్రమాన్ని నిర్వహించారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి ప్రధాన వక్తగా ఈగిల్ ఫోర్స్ డైరెక్టర్ సందీప్ శాండిల్య, ఐపీఎస్ హాజరై “మాదక ద్రవ్యాల దుర్వినియోగ నివారణ” అనే అంశంపై విద్యార్ధులకు, ఉద్యోగులకు అవగాహన కల్పించారు. ఆయన మాట్లాడుతూ మాదకద్రవ్యాల దుర్వినియోగాన్ని ఎదుర్కోవడానికి వాటి వల్ల కలిగే అనర్ధాలపై పూర్తి అవగాహన ఉండాలని, ఒక్కసారి వాటికి అలవాటు పడితే అదో వ్యసనంగా మారి బానిసలుగా తయారు అవుతారని అది అటు తల్లిదండ్రులకు, ఇటు సమాజానికి చెడ్డపేరు తెస్తుందని పేర్కొంటూ ఇటీవల జరిగిన కొన్ని సంఘటనలను తన ప్రజెంటేషన్ తో వివరించారు. తెలంగాణ నుంచి డ్రగ్స్ ను నివారించడం సమిష్టి బాధ్యత గా యువత, భాద్యత గల పౌరులు భావించాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు. మాదకద్రవ్యాల వాడకం లేదా దుర్వినియోగం వల్ల వ్యక్తి తన సహజ లక్షణాలను కోల్పోయి, నిత్యం మత్తు పదార్దాల కోసమే పరితపిస్తారని అంతేకాకుండా తద్వారా తమ జీవితకాలం కూడా క్షీణిస్తుంది అని ఆయన హెచ్చరించారు.
కార్యక్రమానికి ముఖ్య అతిథిగా విశ్వవిద్యాలయ వైస్ ఛాన్సలర్ ప్రొ.ఘంటా చక్రపాణి హాజరయ్యారు. ప్రొ. చక్రపాణి మాట్లాడుతూ యువత తమ బంగారు భవిష్యత్ ని పాడు చేసుకోవద్దని, వ్యసనాలకు అలవాటు పడొద్దని హితవు పలికారు. డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీ డ్రగ్స్ ఫ్రీ జోన్ అని ఆయన ప్రకటించారు. రానున్న రోజుల్లో తమ యూనివర్సిటీలో అభ్యసించే విద్యార్ధులకు డ్రగ్స్ వాడకం వల్ల కలిగే నష్టాలపై పూర్తి అవగాహన కల్పించి వారి సహాయంతో మాదక ద్రవ్యాల నివారణకు అవసరమైన ప్రచారాన్ని చేపడతామని ఆయన ప్రకటించారు.
కార్యక్రమానికి విశ్వవిద్యాలయ అకడమిక్ డైరెక్టర్ ప్రొఫెసర్ జి.పుష్పా చక్రపాణి అధ్యక్షత వహించారు. ఆమె మాట్లాడుతూ సామాజిక భాద్యతగా ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని నిర్వహించామని, రానున్న రోజుల్లో మరిన్ని అవగాహన కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహిస్తామని పేర్కొన్నారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో విశ్వవిద్యాలయ రిజిస్ట్రార్ డా. యల్. విజయ కృష్ణారెడ్డి, కార్యక్రమాన్ని కంప్యూటర్ సైన్సు విభాగం ఆధ్య్వర్యంలో నిర్వహించగా ఆ విభాగ అసిస్టెంట్ ప్రొఫెసర్ డా. భట్టు, అన్ని విభాగాల డైరెక్టర్లు, డీన్లు, అధ్యాపక, అధ్యపకేతర సిబ్బంది పాల్గొన్నారు.
