हैदराबाद : तेलंगाना उच्च शिक्षा परिषद के उपाध्यक्ष प्रोफेसर इटिकाला पुरुषोत्तम ने कहा कि युवा एथलीटों और छात्रों को राज्य को खेल के क्षेत्र में अग्रणी बनाने के लिए कड़ी मेहनत करनी चाहिए। उन्होंने शुक्रवार को तेलंगाना नागरिक परिषद राज्य शाखा के तत्वावधान में भारतीय हॉकी खिलाड़ी मेजर ध्यानचंद की जयंती के उपलक्ष्य में मसाब टैंक में तेलंगाना उच्च शिक्षा परिषद द्वारा आयोजित कार्यक्रम को संबोधित किया। उन्होंने कहा कि एथलीटों को हैदराबाद को खेल जगत का एक मंच बनाने के लिए कड़ी मेहनत करनी चाहिए। उन्होंने खिलाड़ियों से खेल खेलकर मानसिक तनाव से मुक्त होने, स्वस्थ और प्रसन्न रहने और खेल के क्षेत्र में नई ऊँचाइयों को छूने का आह्वान किया।
अतिथि के रूप में राष्ट्रीय पर्यावरण संरक्षण परिषद के सलाहकार और प्रसिद्ध पर्यावरणविद् लायन डॉ. कोमाटीरेड्डी गोपाल रेड्डी ने कहा कि मेजर ध्यानचंद एक महान खिलाड़ी थे जिन्होंने भारतीय हॉकी का जादू पूरी दुनिया में फैलाया और देश को नई ऊँचाइयों पर पहुँचाया। इस अवसर पर संस्था की सचिव श्रीमती इत्ता उदयश्री ने पिछले 40 वर्षों से चलाए जा रहे कार्यक्रमों की जानकारी दी तथा ध्यान के जीवनवृत्त पर प्रकाश डाला।
इस अवसर पर, प्रोफेसर के दीपाला, शारीरिक शिक्षा के प्रोफेसर और बीओसी आईयूटी, ओयू के सचिव दीपला, प्रोफेसर एम. श्रीदेवी, आंध्र महिला सभा कला और विज्ञान महाविद्यालय, उस्मानिया विश्वविद्यालय के शारीरिक निदेशक, एसोसिएट प्रोफेसर और अंतरराष्ट्रीय शतरंज आर्बिटर मेजर के ए शिवप्रसाद, सेंट फ्रांसिस डिग्री और पीजी महिला कॉलेज, बेगमपेट के एसोसिएट प्रोफेसर और शारीरिक शिक्षा के निदेशक, डॉ सैयद फारूक कमाल, भवन्स विवेकानंद डिग्री कॉलेज, सैनिक पुरी के शारीरिक निदेशक, डॉ जी. कोंडल रेड्डी, अनवर लूम डिग्री पीजी कॉलेज, न्यू मल्लेपल्ली के शारीरिक शिक्षा के शारीरिक निदेशक, मेजर डॉ सैयद सिद्दीक हसन को मेजर ध्यान चंद पुरस्कार-2025 से सम्मानित किया गया।
अमेरिका की यात्रा पर गए तेलंगाना नागरिक परिषद के राज्य शाखा अध्यक्ष डॉ. राजनारायण मुदिराज ने एक संदेश भेजकर कहा कि केंद्र और राज्य सरकारें खिलाड़ियों को रोज़गार के अनेक अवसर प्रदान कर रही हैं। उन्होंने युवाओं और छात्रों से खेल के क्षेत्र में आगे बढ़ने, योजनाओं का लाभ उठाने और केंद्र व राज्य सरकार के कर्मचारियों के रूप में सरकार में शामिल होने का आह्वान किया। समन्वयक डॉ. जी. वेणुगोपाल, बी. सूर्या, मोहम्मद अत्तर शरीफ, कुमारी चिंतापर्थी स्वाति और अन्य ने भी भाग लिया और कार्यक्रम को संबोधित किया।

On Friday, under the auspices of the Telangana Citizens Council State Branch, he addressed the program organized by the Telangana Higher Education Council in Masab Tank to commemorate the birth anniversary of Indian hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. He said that athletes should work hard to make Hyderabad a platform for the world of sports. He called on them to get rid of mental stress by playing sports, stay healthy and happy and reach higher heights in the field of sports.
Speaking as the guest of honour, National Environment Conservation Council Advisor and renowned environmentalist Lion Dr. Komatireddy Gopal Reddy said that Major Dhyan Chand was a sports great who spread the magic of Indian hockey all over the world and took the country to great heights. On this occasion, the Secretary of the organization, Smt. Etta Udayashree, explained the programs being carried out for the last 40 years and spoke on the life history of Nanchand.
On this occasion, Professor K Deepala, Professor of Physical Education and Secretary of BOC IUT, OU, Professor M Sridevi, Physical Director of Andhra Mahila Sabha Arts and Science College, Osmania University, Associate Professor and International Chess Arbiter Major K. A. Sivaprasad, Associate Professor and Director of Physical Education of St. Francis Degree and PG Women’s College, Begumpet Dr. Syed Farooq Kamal, Physical Director of Bhavans Vivekananda Degree College, Sainik Puri Dr. G Kondal Reddy, Director of Physical Education of Anwarul Uloom Degree PG College, New Mallepally Major Dr. Syed Siddiq Hasan, were felicitated with the Major Dhayan Chand Excellency Award 2025 by the chief guest Professor Itikala Purushottam with a shawl, garland, memento and a certificate of appreciation.
On this occasion, Telangana Citizens Council State Branch President Dr. Rajnarayana Mudiraj, who is on a visit to America, sent a message saying that the central and state governments are providing many job opportunities to sports persons and called upon the youth and students to also grow in the sports field and achieve schemes and join the government as central and state government employees.
