ఘనంగా అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయ 43వ వ్యవస్థాపక దినోత్సవం
హైదరాబాద్ : దేశంలో దూర విద్యా వ్యాప్తి కి డా. బి. ఆర్ . అంబేద్కర్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీ మార్గదర్శి అని అని ప్రొ. జి.బి.రెడ్డి పేర్కొన్నారు. విశ్వవిద్యాలయ 43వ వ్యవస్థాపక దినోత్సవాన్ని పురస్కరించుకొని నిర్వహించిన స్మారకోపన్యాస కార్యక్రమానికి ఉస్మానియా విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలోని ప్రొ. జి. రామ్ రెడ్డి సెంటర్ ఫర్ డిస్టెన్స్ ఎడ్యుకేషన్, డైరెక్టర్ ప్రొ. జి. బి. రెడ్డి ముఖ్య అతిథిగా పాల్గొని “మేధో సంపత్తి హక్కులు : దూర విద్య, ఆన్‌లైన్ అధ్యయనంలో సమస్యలు – సవాళ్లు, అవకాశాలు” అనే అంశం పై ప్రసంగించారు.
ప్రొ. రెడ్డి మాట్లాడతూ భారతదేశ చరిత్రలో జ్ఞానం, సత్యం భారతీయ ఆలోచన మానవ జీవితంలోని తత్వశాస్త్రంలో భాగంగా ఉన్నాయన్నారు. భారతదేశంలో గొప్ప పరిశోధకులు గణితం, ఖగోళ శాస్త్రం, లోహశాస్త్రం మొదలైన వివిధ రంగాలలో లోతైన జ్ఞానాన్ని అందించారన్నారు. ఇది విద్యా అవసరాలకు సంబంధించి పాఠ్యాంశాలు తాజాగా ఉన్నాయని, విద్యార్థులకు బలమైన పునాదిని అందిస్తుందన్నారు. బోధనా పద్ధతులు, అధ్యాపకుల అర్హతలు, విద్యార్థుల మూల్యాంకనం, తదితరాలు ప్రపంచంతో పొటీ పడేలా విద్యార్థులను తీర్చి దిద్దడానికి ఉపయోగపడుతుందన్నారు. దూరవిద్య అనేది ఒక సంస్థాగతమైన విద్యావిధానమని, ఇది కేవలం బోధనా విధానంలో మాత్రమే భిన్నంగా ఉంటుందని ఆయన అన్నారు.
ఈ వ్యవస్థ విద్యార్థి ఉన్నత విద్య కోసం రెండవ అవకాశాన్ని అందిస్తుందన్నారు . దూర విద్య వెనకబడిన, పేద వర్గాలకు , మహిళలకు విశేష అవకాశాలు కల్పించిందన్నారు. ఓపెన్ అండ్ డిస్టెన్స్ లెర్నింగ్ (ODL) గత కొన్ని సంవత్సరాలుగా లక్షలాది మంది విద్యార్థులకు ఉపాధి కల్పించిందన్నారు. సామాజిక, ఆర్థిక అభివృద్ధికి దోహదపడే విద్యగా దూరవిద్య అత్యంత వేగంగా అభివృద్ధి ప్రాచుర్యాన్ని పొందిందన్నారు. రెగ్యులర్ విద్యాభ్యాసానికి దూర విద్య ఏమాత్రం తీసిపోదని ఆయన వివరించారు. విశ్వవిద్యాలయాల్లో పరిశోధనలు విస్తృతంగా జరగాలని తద్వారా సామాన్య ప్రజలకు ఉపయోగపడేలా ఆవిష్కరణలు జరపాలని అవి సమాజానికి ఉపయోగపడాలని ఆకాంక్షించారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి అధ్యక్షత వహించిన విశ్వవిద్యాలయ అకాడమిక్ డైరెక్టర్ ప్రొ. పుష్పా చక్రపాణి మాట్లాడుతూ డా.బి.ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయం గత 42 సంవత్సరాల్లో సాధించిన విజయాలను గర్వంగా చెప్పకుంటూనే, సమాజానికి మరింత సహాయకారిగా నిలిచేలా తమ బాధ్యతను మరింత పెంచిందన్నారు. విద్యార్ధి సేవల బలోపేతానికి కృషి చేస్తున్నామని, దూరవిధ్యలో అభ్యసించిన విద్యార్ధులకు అన్ని అవకాశాలను అందుబాటులో ఉండేలా చర్యలు చేపట్టినట్లు వెల్లడించారు. కార్యక్రమంలో విశ్వవిద్యాలయ ఇంచార్జ్ రిజిస్ట్రార్‌ ప్రొ. ఇ. సుధా రాణి కార్యక్రమం ఆవశ్యకతను, ముఖ్య అతిథిని పరిచయం చేశారు. కార్యక్రమంలో అన్ని విభాగాల అధిపతులు, డీన్స్, అన్ని ఉద్యోగ సంఘాల నాయకులు, అధ్యాపక, అధ్యపకేతర సిబ్బంది పాల్గొన్నారు.
అంతకముందు డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయ 43వ వ్యవస్థాపక దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా దూర విద్యను ప్రవేశ పెట్టిన దూర విద్యా పితామహుడు ప్రొ. జి. రామ్ రెడ్డి మరియు భారత్ రత్న డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ చిత్రపటానికి ముఖ్యఅతిథి డైరెక్టర్లు, డీన్లు, శాఖాధిపతులు, బోధన, బోధనేతర సిబ్బంది, సేవాసంఘాల ప్రతినిధులు పూలమాల వేసి ఘనంగా నివాళులర్పించారు.

Dr B R Ambedkar Open University Celebrated Foundation Day Lecture
Hyderabad: Prof. G. B. Reddy, Senior Professor of Law and Director, Prof. G. Ram Reddy Centre for Distance Education, Osmania University, Hyderabad Was the chief guest & keynote Speaker at the 43rd Foundation Day Lecture of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad. Prof. G. B. Reddy delivered a Lecture on “Intellectual Property Rights: Issues in Open Distance and online Learning- Challenges and Opportunities”.
Prof. Reddy opined that accreditation bodies assess the relevance, rigor and integrity of academic programmes. Historically, in India, knowledge, wisdom and truth were part of Indian thought and philosophy of everyday human life. The great Indian scholars contributed deep knowledge in various fields like mathematics, Astronomy, Metallurgy and etc. This ensures that the curriculum is up-to-date, relevant to education needs, and provides a robust foundation for students. Assessment of teaching methodologies, faculty qualifications, and student engagement ensures that the education provided is effective and conducive to learning. He also said, Distance Education is an institutionalized education system which different is only in the mode of teaching.
The system provide the student a second chance for higher learning. Though Open and Distance Learning (ODL) has emerged as the most viable option in vocational education over the years. The various problems are still hindering the development of system. As a source contributing to social and economic development, open and distance learning has emerge as one of the most rapidly growing fields of education and training. It is becoming an accepted and indispensable part of the main stream educational system in both developed and developing countries, with a special focus on skill education using digitalisation. He wished that research should be carried out widely in the universities so that innovations could be made to be useful to the common people and they would be useful to the society.
Prof. G. Pushpa Chakrapani, Director (Academic), BRAOU presided over the program. Prof. Pushpa said the Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open University completed 42 years of services to cause of Distance Education in this movement of retrospection, it would be not out of place to recall with pride some of the achievement of the university during its educational annals of the both States. It has been revealed that efforts are being made to strengthen student services and steps have been taken to ensure that all opportunities are available to students who have studied through distance education.
Prof. E.Sudha Rani, Registrar I/c, Dr. BRAOU was welcomed and introduced about the program and Chief Guest and spoke on the occasion. All the Directors, Heads of the Branches, Deans, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff members and representatives of various service associations also participated in the program. Earlier, the Chief Guest, Directors, Deans, Heads of Branches, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Members, representatives of service associations garlanded and offered rich floral tributes to Distance Doyen Prof.G.Ram Reddy and Bharat Ratna Dr. B.
