డా బి ఆర్ అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో ఘనంగా బషిరుద్దిన్ స్మారకోపన్యాసం
హైదరాబాద్ : ప్రజా సమస్యల పట్ల స్పందించని, తప్పులు జరుగుతున్నప్పుడు వ్యవస్థలను ప్రశ్నించని మేధావులు సమాజంలో ఉన్నా లేకున్నా ఒకటేనని ప్రముఖ పాత్రికేయులు, మాజీ ఎమ్మెల్సీ ప్రొ. కె. నాగేశ్వర్ ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేశారు. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయ మాజీ వైస్ ఛాన్సలర్ ప్రొ. యస్. బషీరుద్దిన్ 88వ జయంతిని పురస్కరించుకుని అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో స్మారకోపన్యాస కార్యక్రమాన్ని నిర్వహించారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి ముఖ్యఅతిధిగా ఆచార్యులు. కె.నాగేశ్వర్ హాజరయ్యారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా బషిరుద్దిన్ చిత్ర పటానికి నివాళి అర్పించి ‘ప్రజా మేధావిగా పాత్రికేయుడు’ అనే అంశంపై స్మారకోపన్యాసం చేశారు. అయిన మాట్లాడుతూ విశ్వవిద్యాలయాల్లో ఉండే అధ్యాపకులు, మేధావి వర్గం ప్రభుత్వాలు చేసే తప్పులను, ప్రజా వ్యతిరేక నిర్ణయాలను ఎప్పటికప్పుడు ప్రశ్నించి గొంతులేని సామాన్య ప్రజల పక్షాన నిలపడాలని సూచించారు. కాగా ప్రస్తుత పరిస్థితులలో అటు మీడియా కానీ ఇటు విశ్వవిద్యాలయాల్లో పనిచేసి మేధావి వర్గం కానీ ప్రశ్నించే అవకాశం లేదని ఇది సమాజానికి మంచిది కాదని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. రాజ్యాన్ని ప్రశ్నించే మీడియా రాజ్యం చేతిలో కీలు బొమ్మగా మారిందని ఆవేదన వ్యక్తం. మీడియా సరైన పాత్ర పోషించనప్పుడు మీడియాను ప్రజలు పట్టించుకోవాల్సిన అవసరం లేదన్నారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి అధ్యక్షత వహించిన విశ్వవిద్యాలయ ఉపకులపతి ఆచార్య కె. సీతారామ రావు మాట్లాడుతూ తెలంగాణా మేధావి వర్గంలో ప్రొ. బషీరుద్ధిన్ ఒకరని, అంబేద్కర్ వర్శీటీ మౌళిక వసతుల ఏర్పాటులో ఆయన పాత్ర చాలా గొప్పదని వివరించారు. తెలంగాణా వైతాలికులను గౌరవించుకోవడం, వారు చేసిన సేవలను గుర్తుచేసుకోవాలనే ఉద్దేశ్యంతో ఇలాంటి కార్యక్రమాలు ఏర్పాటు చేసినట్లు ఆయన వెల్లడించారు.
కార్యక్రమంలో విశ్వవిద్యాలయ అకడమిక్ డైరెక్టర్ ప్రొ. జి. పుష్ప చక్రపాణి, కార్యక్రమం నిర్వహణ, ఆవశ్యకతను వివరించి ముఖ్య అతిథిని సభకు పరిచయం చేశారు. రిజిస్ట్రార్ ప్రొ. ఎ.వి.ఎన్.ఆర్. రెడ్డి వందన సమర్పణ చేయగా అన్ని విభాగాల అధిపతులు, డీన్స్, అన్ని ఉద్యోగ సంఘాల నాయకులు, మాజీ అధ్యాపకులు ప్రొ. ఘంటా చక్రపాణి, ప్రొ. సి. వెంకటయ్య, ప్రొ. మధుసూదన్ రెడ్డి పాల్గొన్నారు. అంతకు ముందు బషిరుద్దిన్ చిత్ర పటానికి పూలమాల వేసి ఘనంగా నివాళి అర్పించారు.

Dr B R Ambedkar Open University organised Prof S Bashiruddin Memorial Lecture
Hyderabad: Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) organized Prof. S. Bashiruddin Memorial Lecture at its campus as part of 88th Birth anniversary of Prof. S. Bashiruddin, Former Vice-Chancellor on Tuesday.
Prof.K.Nageshwar, Former MLC & Retired Professor of Journalism, Osmania University, Hyderabad delivered a lecture on ‘Journalist as Public Intellectual’ Prof. Nageshwar expressed that intellectuals who do not respond to public issues and do not question when mistakes are made which is not good for the society.
He suggested that the faculty and intellectuals in the universities should question the mistakes and anti-public decisions of the governments from time to time and stand on the side of the voiceless common people. He felt that the media questioning the state has become a puppet in the hands of the state. He said that people do not need to care about the media when the media does not play a proper role.
Prof. K. Seetharama Rao, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU, Presided over the function. Prof. Rao said that Prof. Bashiruddin is one of Telangana intellectuals and his role in the establishment of basic facilities of this university is very great. He revealed that such programs have been organized with the intention of honoring Telangana veterans and remembering their services.
Prof. G. Pushpa Chakrapani, Director (Academic) explain about the and introduced about the chief guest. Prof. A.V.R.N Reddy, Registrar also spoke on the occasion, Proposed vote of thanks. Earlier, the Chief Guest and other dignitaries lighted the lamp and offered floral tributes to Prof. S. Bashiruddin portrait. Former professors Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Prof. C. Venkataiah, Prof. P. Madhusudana Reddy, Director, Deans, Head of the Branches, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Members and Representatives of various Service Associations also participated.
