డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీలో ఘనంగా అంతర్జాతీయ మహిళా దినోత్సవం

హైదరాబద్ : స్త్రీ, శిశు, బాలికా వికాసానికి, వాళ్ళ సంరక్షణకు తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం విశేషంగా కృషి చేస్తోందని గిరిజన సంక్షేమ, మహిళా, శిశు సంక్షేమ శాఖ మంత్రి సత్యవతి రాథోడ్ వివరించారు. డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీ మహిళా అభివృద్ధి, విస్తరణ కేంద్రం నిర్వహించిన అంతర్జాతీయ మహిళా దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా నిర్వహించిన కార్యక్రమానికి తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర గిరిజన సంక్షేమం, మహిళా మరియు శిశు సంక్షేమ శాఖ మంత్రివర్యులు శ్రీమతి సత్యవతి రాథోడ్, ముఖ్య అతిధిగా హాజరై “లింగ సమానత్వం” అనే అంశం పై ప్రసంగించారు.

మంత్రి మాట్లాడుతూ సమాజంలో గౌరవప్రదమైన బాధ్యతను పోషిస్తూ ఆదర్శంగా నిలుస్తున్న మహిళ తన సంతోషాలను, స్వేచ్ఛను పక్కనపెట్టి ఎల్లప్పుడూ కుటుంబ అవసరాలకు పరితపిస్తూ ఉంటుందని పేర్కొన్నారు. తల్లిదండ్రులు తమ పిల్లలను ఆడ మగ అనే తేడా లేకుండా సమానంగా పెంచాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని బాల్యం నుంచే కుటుంబ సంప్రదాయాలను విలువలతో కూడిన జీవితం పైన అవగాహన కల్పించాల్సిన బాధ్యత తల్లిదండ్రులదే అన్నారు. మహిళా సాధికారత, వారిని ఉన్నత విద్యావంతులుగా తీర్చిదిద్దటానికి అంబేద్కర్ యూనివర్సిటీ చేస్తున్న కృషిని ఆమె ప్రశంసించారు.

మహిళల రక్షణకు అనేక చట్టాలు ఉన్నాయని వాటిని విశ్వవిద్యాలయాల్లో భోధించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందన్నారు. మహిళల రక్షణే ధ్యేయంగా సఖి, భరోసా, ప్రజ్వల, శీ టీం తదితరాలను గౌరవ ముఖ్యమంత్రి కె.సి.ఆర్. ఏర్పాటు చేసినట్లు వివరించారు. తాను కూడా అంబేద్కర్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీ లో కొంత కలం చదివి మధ్యలో వదిలేశానని తనలాంటి వారికి ఎందరికో ఉన్నత విద్యను అభ్యసించేలా అవకాశం కల్పించే గొప్ప విశ్వవిద్యాలంగా అంబేద్కర్ వర్శిటీ ని కొనియాడారు.

ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో విశిష్ట అతిథిగా పాల్గొన్న తెలంగాణ మహిళా విశ్వవిద్యాలయ ఇంచార్జ్ ఉపకులపతి ప్రొ. ఎం. విజ్జులత మాట్లాడుతూ ఆధునిక సాంకేతిక పరిజ్ఞానం అందుబాటులోకి వచ్చిన నేపథ్యంలో మహిళలు మరింత జాగురూకతతో వ్యవహరించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందన్నారు. ఎక్కడ పడితే అక్కడ మహిళలు తమ ఫోటోలను షేర్ చేయొద్దని నమ్మకమైన సైట్స్ లో మాత్రమే ఉండేలా చూసుకోవాలన్నారు. ఒత్తిడికి లోనవుతూ విద్యార్థులు ఆత్మహత్యలకు పాల్పడుతున్నారని ఇది బాధగా ఉందన్నారు. పిల్లలు తమ సమస్యలను తల్లిదండ్రులతో పంచుకోవాలని, తల్లిదండ్రులు కూడా పిల్లలకు సమయం కేటాయించాలని సూచించారు.

కార్యక్రమంలో గౌరవ అతిథిగా పాల్గొన్న భూమిక ఎడిటర్, శ్రీమతి కొండవీటి సత్యవతి మాట్లాడుతూ మహిళల రక్షణకు అనేక చట్టాలు వచ్చాయని వాటి పైన మహిళలకు ఎంత అవగాహన అవసరమో అంతకు మించి ఆ చట్టాలు ప్రయోగిస్తే ఎలాంటి ఇబ్బందులు ఉంటాయో పురుషులు, బాలుర తల్లిదండ్రులు తెలుసుకోవాలన్నారు. దిశా, పోక్సో లాంటి కఠినమైన చట్టాల కింద కేసులు నమోదు అయితే కుటుంబాలు రోడ్డున పడే పరిస్థితి వస్తుందని యెచ్చరించారు.

ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి అధ్యక్షత వహించిన విశ్వవిద్యాలయ ఉపకులపతి ఆచార్య. కె. సీతారామారావు మాట్లాడుతూ ఈ ప్రపంచంలో స్త్రీని మించిన మహాశక్తి ఏదీ లేదని, స్త్రీ లేకపోతే ఈ సృష్టి లేదన్నారు. మహిళల సాధికారత, అభ్యున్నతి, వివక్ష నిర్మూలన పై తమ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం ద్వారా పాఠ్యాంశాలను అందిస్తున్న విషయాన్ని గుర్తు చేశారు. రానున్న రోజుల్లో మరిన్ని కోర్సులను రూపొందించనున్నట్లు వెల్లడించారు.

విశ్వవిద్యాలయ మహిళా అభివృద్ధి, విస్తరణ కేంద్రం ఇంచార్జ్ డా. జి. మేరీ సునంద కార్యక్రమం నిర్వహణ ఆవశ్యకతను వివరించారు. కార్యక్రమంలో రిజిస్ట్రార్ డా. ఏ. వి. ఎన్. రెడ్డి, పలు విభాగాల డైరెక్టర్స్, డీన్స్, అన్ని విభాగాల అధిపతులు, విశ్వవిద్యాలయ మహిళా ఉద్యోగులు, ఉద్యోగ సంఘాల నాయకులు పాల్గున్నారు. అనంతరం నిర్వహించిన సాంస్కృతిక కార్యక్రమాలు ఆహుతులను అలరించాయి.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS AT BRAOU

TELANGANA GOVERNMENT IS MAKING SPECIAL EFFORTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT & CARE OF WOMEN, CHILDREN AND GIRLS : Minister Satyavathi Rathod

Hyderabad: The Women’s Development & Extension Centre (WDEC) of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) today celebrated International Women’s Day at its Campus at Jubilee Hills.

Smt. Satyavathi Rathod, Hon’ble Minister for ST Welfare, Women and Child Welfare, Government of Telangana was the chief guest for the function, she said that the Telangana government is making special efforts for the development and care of women, children and girls. In her addressed she spoke on “Women empowerment”, she expressed concern that a woman who plays an honorable role in the society and stands as an example always puts her happiness and freedom aside and always looks after the needs of the family.

She said that parents need to raise their children equally regardless of whether they are male or female, and it is the responsibility of parents to inculcate the values of family traditions from childhood. She appreciated the efforts of Ambedkar University to empower women and make them highly educated. She also said that there are many laws for the protection for women and they need to be taught in the Universities. Honorable Chief Minister KCR set up the i.e., Sakhi, Bharosa, Prajwala, She Teams etc. were formed with the aim of protecting women. She also praised Ambedkar University as a great university that provides an opportunity for rural women to pursue higher education.

Prof. M. Vijjulatha, Vice-Chancellor I/c, Telangana Women’s University said that in view of the availability of modern technology, women need to act more cautiously. She cautioned, women should not share their photos any social media platforms. She said it is sad that students are committing suicide under pressure. Children are advised to share their problems with their parents and parents should also spend ample of time with their children to discuss all issues.

Mrs. Kondaveeti Satyavathi, Editor of Bhumika, who participated as the guest of honor in the program, said that many laws have been passed for the protection of women, beyond the awareness of women, the parents of men and boys want to know what kind of problems will arise if those laws are applied. She warned that if cases are registered under strict laws like Disha and POCSO, the families will end up on the road.

Prof.K.Seetharama Rao, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU Preside over the program. He said that there is no great power in this world beyond woman and without woman this creation does not exist. He reminded that Ambedkar Open University is providing curriculum on women’s empowerment, advancement and elimination of discrimination. It has been revealed that more courses will be added in the coming days.
